In nature, a bower bird is one that collects miscellaneous objects to adorn a bower (a shady enclosure). They look so cute and proud of themselves. Informally, it means I've collected random things and they've taken up space on my desk for too long, the inspiration laying dormant. And then one day, it showed up and demanded I drop what I was doing and make and make and make.
This new collection is a way for me to be able to just create with some blocks removed. To take away the obsessive pursuit of perfection and see what can be made. And I love what I've created here! I believe we've lost so much great art, fashion, photography etc due to perfectionism. It remains hidden, destroyed, or worst of all, un-made and stuck in the mind of the one who can create it. This is for anyone suffering from imposter syndrome as I do. SHOW YOURSELF. I WANT TO SEE IT.
This is a bit of an experiment to assist with the flow of creativity. I’m so excited to add to it whenever inspiration strikes and to create unique pieces. I've designed the earrings in a way to be worn asymmetrically (paired with a different earring from this collection or on its own)
These will all be very limited run, only a few of each design, not to be re-made. Silver stuff coming soon.
